about

I wrote this song following the attack at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester 2017 and premiered it at my 'Silver Tin House' album launch in Ranfurly House, Dungannon on 24th June 2017. This song relates to a lot of things happening in the world today. In my most immediate reality is the prospective gold mining processing plant in the beautiful Sperrin mounatins in Co. Tyrone. 'Cry' has been used to accompany a series of beautiful images of this area of outstanding natural beauty in the 'Love Tyrone' campaign.Together we must stand together and say No! We are but stewards of this land. We owe it to our children's children to defend the beauty of God's creation against those out to profit at any cost.

lyrics

The birds will sing tomorrow, just like the day before
Even though there is such sorrow and the bells toll even more
And I will cry with you, through your pain and suffering
And I will cry for you...
And when it comes to speak about the injustices being done
Will we colour our reflection with the opinion of the one
who just tells their side, choosing certain truths to hide
who spins the tale their way, ooh...
Deora na leanbh
And when it comes to tell our children of what's been done
Will our words explain the actions of the hate and fear of some
And they will cry in pain, not understanding anything
And we'll be filled with shame
And will God forgive us for what we haven't done
And will God forgive us for what we haven't done
Oh, oh, oh, cry
